The Rye Bonfire, also called the Great Rye Fawkes Pageant, is run by the Rye and District Bonfire Society. It starts with a procession through the town that includes torch-carrying bonfire societies, Scorcher the dragon and the Ryebellion drummers, followed by fireworks and a bonfire that usually involves burning a boat. Parking and vehicle restrictions apply along the procession route from the afternoon.
